Unfortunately i have had my bike taken away and have been fined 500 dollars. I went to the city court fought it like you would if you got a parking ticket or something. got my bmx back and didnt have to pay. But because its a provincial park (private property) not to mention that the park is a protected area. meaning its illegal to manipulate the area. ie. Jumps/diging/building. because its a wildlife park. Ive had park rangers chase after us. And i have had them call the police and have them chase after us. Yes you can get fined, yes you can have your bikes confiscated. |

honestly im not super stoked about racing the trails, i mean its gonna be cool and all but but a lot of the berms and stuff are super tight and the jumps are hard to hit on a big bike. I probably wont show up until the DH course is done. |

Its in calgary alberta, right off the trans canada heading out to banff. so its in the South West |

Well, did you have the waiver signed by your parents Or proof of parental consent. because if not LEGALLY your not able to be there. |

Hey For anyone interested, i took some shots while i was out there. they are in my album. I was super glad to see what went down that day. made the wait for the park to open seem that much easier to wait for |

one problem you can get fined BIG TIME and your bike can be confiscated. its a provincial park i would advise not building there |
| link to story |
unless they build some sick gnar berms on it and make it a faster funner run but i like the lack of jumps on it, super fun to ride. personally one of my favorite trails |

FOR ANYONE PLANNIG TO ATTEND Apparently there is a 16+ age cap. i really hope they let me n i turn 16 5 days after the build hahaha |

read my post. the park making money allows the sport to progress. it give them more money to continue building the park. the more money they make the more they trust the park will make money, the more they trust it the more they will do to the park to make it better to make more money, its just what happens the more money they make the better for us because they will make a better park if they can make more money from it. |

Of course they will make money but they have to make money to keep the place open. IF IT WASNT OPEN WE COULDNT RIDE SO WHO CARES IF THEY AKE MONEY. ITS VOULENTEERING. THAT MEANS IF YOU DONT WANNA GO THEN DONT. i dont see why your stressing so hard on how there gonna make money from it. the more they make the better because that give us more oppertunity to build better stuff the next year and keep the sport progressing |

sorry you shouldnt need to be getting paid* |
| link to story |
if not the 10th they are planning for the 17th, which is good, give them time to make sure everything is prime and everything gets dry. along that it gives me time to finish off my bike haha |

BUT dont forget, Lumber, paying to build it, machine rentals, tools, screws nails and ontop of that the food for the free lunch, None of that stuff is cheap. and at the amount they are using to re build an ENTIRE park is a large number. they have not only the west trees to build but our trials park, DJ's, Down Hill, West and east trees and keep them maintained over the entire summer and into the fall. If your so concerned about why there being "cheap" and not paying for your efforts i would appreciate if you stopped biking because you should need to be getting paid to help out the biking community and allowing us a better facility to do so. |

i believe the budget for the park this year was 150,000 $$ |

who cares dude, the more people the better! hell i just wanna get outside doing something that relates to biking in any way! ive been cooped up inside my house pretty much hibernating getting my bike ready for opening and im ready to head and build. The more that we can do grub work or actually building is still doing work to help our biking community here! Props to everyone who shows up! |

buddie, its ust what things cost now, i bet you if you ran a shop and you didnt charge labour cost or you didnt makr up the cost a bit you wouldnt be eating that night |
| link to story |
and you wont, ill bet the kid is bull shitting |
| link to story |
the reason there on her is because what that shop does for biking in alberta, they sponsor every race, there the main sponsor for every afa, they make sure that we can have these races, they provide the prizes and have a rad race team who do alot for the biking community, and these kids on their team arent just some local, these guys are great at what they do, for example they go to sea otter and crankworx and many other MAJOR events. |
